Fascism, defined by Wikipedia, “is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy”.
Remove the “far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism” part from the definition, and you have a clear definition of what the Leftist controlled social media is doing to free speech platforms right this very moment.
Those of us on the Right have been saying for years that the Left wants to suppress our speech, and we have been labeled as conspiracy theorists for doing so…but not anymore. Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, and Amazon have stepped up to prove our point, and they are proving it well.
Facebook and Twitter have suspended the social media accounts of a sitting United States President. Let that sink in for a moment.
Now, they both claim to be doing it as a response to President Trump “inciting an insurrection” at the capital. To be clear, a couple hundred people storming the capital is not an insurrection in any way. In fact, what happened at the capital was far less violent and destructive than many of the “peaceful” protests that we have witnessed over the better part of the last year…”peaceful” protests that have led to hundreds of deaths and billions of dollars in property damage across multiple states. How many politicians on the left, and members of the media, publicly showed support for this violence and destruction? Many. How many of the politicians, and members of the media, are being accused of “inciting insurrection”? None.
Now the big tech powers are colluding together to silence dissenting opinion and speech by ganging up on free speech platform Parler. Google removed the app from its App Store, Apple followed suit and has suspended the app, and now Amazon is refusing to host the app on its servers. These are fascist tactics being utilized by companies so power hungry that they have decided that they get to control the dissemination of information.
As a Texan being affected directly by this, I call on Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to look into this immediately to see if there is legal recourse to take action against these companies.
When a company operates in a certain country, that company must abide by the laws of the country in which the company is operating. We have laws in this nation protecting our God given rights of free speech and free expression. I demand that Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, and Amazon recognize and respect these rights immediately.
